I have been looking for my biological father, Anthony Joseph Patrick Reynolds who was born in Scotland and his mother's name is Julie. He is about 45-55 years old. I don't know nothing about them except he lived in Northern Ontario with my mother Violet Kakepetum and he was a manager at the Northern Store in Sandy Lake, Ontario. My great, great grandfather was Wilson H. Reynolds, born in PA around 1822, married Eliza J. Nelson, daughter of John and Margaret (Kutchan or Kuthkan) Nelson. He died in Illinois around 1878. He served in the 1st Illinois Cavalry, Company G, during the Civil War. Children that I know of were Jane A., John H., Ida M., and maybe Gale, Ralph, and Willis. Anybody know who his parents were?

Presently I am trying to get information regarding my grandfather, Rev. John Harlan Reynolds. He lived in the Little Rock, Arkansas area. My grandmother's maiden name was Cora Malisie Scarborough, born in Florida on April 5, l859. My father was Homer Baskin Reynolds, born June 21, l904 in Little Rock. He too, was a minister, Southern Baptist. My father would also be referred to as Chaplain Colonel Homer B. Reynolds....having served in the Air Force during World War II. I'm from a line of the Reynolds family that settled in New Brunswick, Canada from Cork County, Ireland during the potato famine (Nicholas Reynolds, married Anne Rice). A good many Reynolds still live there today. I do know that some of Nicholas's brothers (and/or perhaps children) moved down into Maine. My father, Edward Nicholas Reynolds (1922-1995) kept in touch with some of them I believe. Does that ring a bell to anyone out there?

I have just recently started to wonder where my family has come from. Not having much luck since my grandfather was adopted. I am however looking for a half sister that has not been seen by her father's family since she was 2 years old. Her name is Dawn Desiree' Reynolds. Her mother's name is Melody. She was born around 1969 in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was last known to be living in Wayne county, Michigan in 1972. I would greatly appreciate any information that could be given to me to help me in my search. Dawn also has a half brother named Dion Sterling who is a little bit older than her. Hi, Love your site! Haven't found any matches, but here is my Reynolds. Not much is known. My grmother was born in 1897 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She had 4 older sibs. Minnie, Iva, Ava, & Edward. Don't know her parents names but f. may have been Edward. Her f.sent her in 1904 to Montana(age 7)to live with Minnie and her husband(2nd husb.was Alex Roy from Canada. He claimed he was the black sheep. all his bros.& Sis.were priests and nuns). There is a Edward Reynolds buried in Riverview Cem.in Hamilton, MT. Their father was a Morman and mother was disowned for marrying him.(She was from a wealthy fam. from Canada, and, I believe Catholic)On May 5,1915, Crystal m. Henry Ellsworth Francis in Hamilton, MT and moved to Centralia, WA around 1927. Sound familiar to anyone? The Francis family has been well researched and doc. by many indv. I was most intrigued to come across this web site. Congratulations to Joe and the others for the hard work. My extensive branch of the Reynolds family descend from one Joseph Gardiner Reynolds born at Tissington, Derbyshire, 15/6/1820. He migrated to Western Australia in the 1840s. He died in WA in 1912 after having led a successful and productive life (including 9 daughters and 3 sons). I know that our branch has definite links to Sir Alfred Reynolds (1850-1931), one time Sheriff of London at around the turn of the century [I mention him as a reference point]. Joseph Gardiner Reynolds was the son of Thomas Reynolds, employed by the Fitzherberts of Tissington. It appears that Thomas was born 31/5/1779 at Bardfield in Essex. He was one of several children. Very likely there are others who would have comprehensive records. I have to confess that I am still very much in the early stages of looking. Last year, when I visited Britain, I found references in the Fitzherbert Family records kept in Derbyshire County Archives in Matlock, Derbyshire, to commercial transactions between the Fitzherberts and various Reynoldses in Warsop, Nottinghamshire. Thinking that there might have been a connection between my WA family and the Notts. family, I searched some of the Nottinghamshire records. I found hundreds of Reynoldses listed. As yet, I still have to work through the information I have found and see if any connections exist. If there is anybody interested, I would be happy to share my information. However, I am still in the process of compiling it into a usable form. Alas, I have other demands placed on my time. Good luck to everyone else searching for information. Philip Reynolds. Reynolds are almost as prolific as my Smith ancestors, and certainly more elusive. If anyone has family from Presque Isle Maine, my grandmother was born there in 1884. I believe her father was Osborn Reynolds, a Civil War vet. His family was from New York. How would I find the past? I'd be glad to share my information.
