He was retired from Red River Army Depot, member of the Maud Church of Christ where he was the song director for 48 years, past president of the Maud United Funds, member of the Maud Lions Club, served on both the Center Ridge Cemetery Committee and the Maud School Committee and organized Maud?s first Little League Baseball team. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sister, Leola Mammrella, Etone Jones, Lois Martin and Mildred Graham. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joan Nash Brown of Maud, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Perry A. and Renay Brown of Wake Village, Texas, David "Bubba" Brown and Belinda Brown of Maud, Texas; one sister, Jamie Mondello of Henderson, Texas; three grandchildren and spouses, who knew him as "Papa", Jason and Kook Hee Brown, Lori and Anthony Pinkham, Braden Brown and a number of other relatives. A celebration of his life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Maud Church of Christ with Jon Binkley and George Montgomery officiating.
