QUERY: I am looking for descendants of Humphrey REYNOLDS (b abt 1580, bur 1 Jul 1632 Cropwell Bishop, Notts, England). Humphrey had 7 known children, 6 of whom lived to adulthood. They are Catherine (bap Southwell, Notts. 16 Feb 1606/07), Elizabeth (bap Southwell 15 Jan 1608/09), John (bap Southwell 15 Apr 1610), Anna (bap Cropwell Bishop, Notts 10 Dec 1611), Mary (bap Cropwell Bishop 25 mar 1615), and Humphrey (bap Cropwell Bishop 25 Jan 1616/17). The 7th child, Sara, was bap and bur in 1620 in Cropwell Bishop. I believe some of these children immigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony and Piscataqua Plantation in the 1630's, and of those who came some returned to England. Their father, Humphrey, matriculated Cambridge Uni. about 1597 and was later the clerk of Cropwell Bishop, having been ordained in York Diocese. My goal is to discover if anyone has traced ancestry to this family and may know who or if these children married. I believe Catherine may have married my Edward STARBU CK either in England or Dover, NH in the mid-1630's.

QUERY: I am seeking information on a Mary A Reynolds, who married Cornelius Hickey. They were my 2nd Great Grandparents. I would like to know if anyone has data on Mary's parents, as I am stuck with her line. I have that she was born in Tennessee, and she and Cornelius lived in Knox County, TN for their marriage. I do have information on her children, etc., and I would be happy to share that and source information with you, should there be interest in that. Her oldest daughter was named Barbara White Hickey, and her oldest son was named Jonathan Martin (John) Hickey, which if they named as traditionally done in that time, leads me to believe those names may reflect names associated with her parents. I did find a family of Reynolds in TN at that time, and they did have a Mary, but the middle name was wrong, which could be in error or it could mean I am barking up the wrong tree.

QUERY: Seeking family and information on ROSA L.REYNOLDS who was born approximately 1874-1877. There are two marriages in Boone County, Arkansas.(The first marriage was 15 June 1890 to James Sherman Hemphill. She lists her age as 16, resident of Glencoe, Searcy County and he was 20 years of age from Duggers Mill. ---The second .marriage was 14 February 1901 to James Franklin Nichols, age 35. She gave her age as 24--both residents of Western Grove, Newton County, Arkansas). From the first marriage were three children: Homer Hemphill (b 1894), Ethel J. Hemphill (b 1895), and Violet Edith Hemphill (b 1896). Sherman Hemphill later remarried to Laura J. Meek and eventually started a new family. Rosa had remarried to J.F. Nichols. Along about that time Sherman and Rosa engaged in a tug-of-war over their children. Both wanted custody and neither would budge ! In her declining years, Violet recalled that when she was about 4 years old that Sherman and Rosa had a confrontation and Sherman was able to wrestle Ethel and Violet away from Rosa and eventually relocated to Texas. Rosa still had the first born, Homer Hemphill. It is not known where they lived or with who--she remained in the area because she married J.F. Nichols in 1901.---Rosa and J.F. had two children: Truman Andy Nichols (b 1902) and Trudi T. Nichols (b 1904).--This marriage also failed and these two children were raised by J. F. Nichols and a new wife, Harriett (Steel) Griggs. They married 8 April 1909 and remained in the Newton County area until their deaths.---The later whereabouts of Rosa and son Homer Hemphill is not known.-----Truman Nickols married first to Lela Hunter and second to Clara Rubin, He died in 1974 and is buried at Crawford Cemetery in Boone County. Trudi Nichols married Norvel Clem.She died in 2012 and is buried in Springdale, Washington, Arkansas.----Any information concerning Rosa Reynolds Hemphill Nichols and her son Homer Hemohill would be greatly appreciated.
