QUERY: I am trying to find out who my great grandparents were. My grandfather was Lewis Edmond Reynolds, born May 30, 1906 and died January 13, 1973. Lived in Lamar County, AL. Buried at Mt Zion cemetery, Vernon, AL and was married to Millie Ovella Stapp Reynolds. He had brothers named Homer H Reynolds and Jimmy Reynolds, maybe more, but that is all the names that I know. QUERY: Looking for John Reynolds b Rhode Island est 1790's.
Married to an Elizabeth, pos Daniels. He had a son James Enos born in NY Sep 16, 1817 who married a Mary Guyer in Crawford County (Hutsonville) IL Nov 11, 1841.
John Reynolds and his family appear to have emigrated to Crawford County are in 1830 census. We believe he was a blacksmith. James Enos stayed in the area and my line continues through him. Family history seems to remember hearing that the line came to Illinois by way of Kentucky.
Considering that John returned to KY or East Coast, as finding no record of his death in Indiana. I'm stuck.

QUERY: I found a newspaper article on Samuel Sam Pruitt that was in the Athens Post in Limestone County, Alabama. It states that Samuel Pruitt was shot and killed on Sand Mountain near Finney's Ferry on Dec 6. 1873 by Rev. Stephen M Hastin (Hastings) Stepehn was my ggrandfather. Do you have any additional information on this or why Samuel was shot?
